The H2 2026 Flagship Calendar for Retailers
Flagship launches are the tide charts of phone retail: they move foot traffic, reset price ladders, and briefly make allocation the only thing that matters. Here is the second half of 2026 as the reporting currently maps it — with the caveat that only announced dates are certain.
July 22 — Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, London. The Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 headline, with retail availability reported around August 5. Foldable allocation is the tightest of any category in week one; buyers who want launch stock should be talking to suppliers before the event, not after.
Mid-August — Google Pixel 11 range. Pre-launch reporting points to an August 12 event and roughly August 20 availability across four models including a Pro Fold. August is otherwise a quiet retail month; a fresh Pixel range is the traffic event to build around.
September — Apple. Historically a second-week September announcement, and the iPhone 18 rumor cycle (a possible split lineup, premium models first, plus a heavily rumored first foldable) suggests this could be the most consequential Apple event for retailers in years. Nothing is confirmed until Apple says so — but no retailer should enter September without open-to-buy.
The connective tissue between these dates matters as much as the dates: each launch softens pricing on the outgoing generation. The weeks before an event are reliably the best moment to buy the current flagship at improved wholesale numbers — the S25 around Unpacked, the Pixel 10 range in early August, the iPhone 17 family as September approaches.
Calendar entries above combine announced events with reporting from SamMobile, Tom's Guide, 9to5Google, PhoneArena, and MacRumors as of July 2026. Where dates are reported rather than announced, treat them as planning estimates.
